For starters, most teams don’t have an All-Pro left tackle, but if they did and that player was on the PUP list to begin the season, they’d be in trouble. But not the Green Bay Packers, however, because they have the do-it-all Elgton Jenkins.

Through two games, Jenkins has held up well protecting Aaron Rodgers’ blindside. Against New Orleans and Detroit, Jenkins has allowed one sack and four pressures, according to PFF ($$). He was also the second-highest graded offensive tackle in football after Week 1.

"“The moment’s never too big for him,” Packers coach Matt LaFleur explained via the Wisconsin State Journal. “A lot of guys might struggle mentally just because the timing of everything you’re doing is a little different when you’re inside (at guard) versus outside (at tackle). Just that transition alone is tough for anybody to do it. I think he just attacks it with the right attitude. He’s got a lot of confidence in himself. He is an alpha.“You look at everything he possesses from his size, his quickness, his strength, his ability to — no matter what we ask of him — perform at a high level. Certainly, again, he’s got to go out there and prove it, but he’s a guy that we are very optimistic about.”"

In addition to Jenkins, this entire Green Bay Packers offensive line has been steady these first two games, even though they are starting two rookies, are without David Bakhtiari, and have had a different left guard each week.

However, this coming Sunday will be a difficult test for this Packers offensive line as they take on the San Francisco 49ers.

Led by Nick Bosa, the Niners have tallied a whopping 52 pressures over these first two games along with five sacks, per PFF.

Unfortunately for Green Bay, Jenkins was not in attendance at Wednesday’s practice. After practice, Matt LaFleur told reporters that Jenkins was held out with an ankle injury and that he would have the week to recover before they determine his status for Sunday’s game.

As Rob Demovsky of ESPN noted, there was one play from Monday’s game that Jenkins was slow to get up from, but he did stay on the field.

Of course, it’s still too early in the week to know whether or not Jenkins will be available on Sunday,  and we shouldn’t hit the panic button yet, but it goes without saying how devastating of a loss this would be.

Green Bay would be left with Billy Turner and either Yosh Nijman or Dennis Kelly as their tackles.

Even if Jenkins does play but isn’t quite at 100 percent, that could still spell trouble for the Green Bay Packers offensive line against a stout 49ers pass-rush.

We will continue to monitor Jenkins’ status for the remainder of the week.
