The Green Bay Packers’ 2021 NFL season-opener against the New Orleans Saints was a complete dud. There’s no other way about it even as we digest it the day after by looking at the good, the bad, and the grade.

Following another 13-3 season and NFC Championship game appearance, fans were excited to get back to actual football following an offseason of drama surrounding their MVP quarterback. Maybe the game will distract us from what is certain to be another tumultuous offseason.

Oh, how naive we might have been. The good news is there is plenty of season for Green Bay to right the ship. For now, let’s check out the good, the bad and hand out grades for this U.G.L.Y. contest.

Let’s check out what went well, what sucked, and grade the unit’s performances in the Green Bay Packers’ blowout loss to the Saints.

Packers blowout loss to Saints: The Good: Mason Crosby, Corey Bojorquez, special teams

Mason Crosby made his only field goal attempt and was responsible for the sole points on the Packers’ scoreboard. According to the Fox broadcast, he’s now made 31-straight field goals inside of 50 yards. He’s also made 19-straight field goals overall, tying his own streak for the second-most in team history. He also holds the record at 23.

Corey Bojorquez got plenty of action in his debut for Green Bay and held his own. He averaged 44 yards on four punts and even had an impressive 59-yarder. The coverage units also held their own and didn’t give up any huge game-changing returns. That’s about all we can say about the good.
