Final cutdowns took place on Tuesday, and the Green Bay Packers’ 53-man roster — well, technically 52 until the trade for Corey Bojorquez goes through — is now set. The next step in the roster-building process is constructing the practice squad.

Although these players didn’t make the initial roster, whether it be injuries or performance, many will end up on the active roster at some point this season. Over the course of an NFL season, it takes more than just the initial 53.

For those players with less than four years of experience they must go through waivers, where they can be claimed by any team–and if multiple teams put in a claim on one player, the team with the worse record from 2020 is awarded the players.

The caveat, however, is that anyone claim must then be placed on the 53-man roster. It isn’t until after 3:00 CST on Wednesday that teams can officially begin constructing their practice squads.

My goal here today is to try to predict the Green Bay Packers 16-man practice squad that they will construct over the next 12 hours.

Now, of course, there is the possibility that the Packers could sign players who were on other teams, or a few of these players could end up elsewhere, but odds are that a majority — if not all — of the signings will be players who were in training camp with Green Bay.
