Packers final 53-man roster: First 5 out

Jack Heflin, Cole Van Lanen, Kabion Ento, Innis Gaines, Ray Wilborn

Jack Heflin had another tackle for loss on Saturday, further proving his worth to this team. As much as Green Bay would love to keep him, he’s just not ready to contribute more than Tyler Lancaster in 2021–a year the Packers have moved all their chips into the middle of the table for. They’ll try to sneak him onto the practice squad and hope he can be around next season.

Kabion Ento and Innis Gaines were two of the bigger surprises this preseason (as was Heflin). They made strong pushes to make the final roster, but they were just outperformed by two players ahead of them. They’ll be strongly disappointed if they get let go.

Cole Van Lanen and Ray Wilborn were locked into battles at their respective positions heading into Saturday. For Van Lanen, the Packers are just too deep on the offensive line for him to crack the team. As for Wilborn, he’ll get beat out by a draft pick despite Kamal Martin getting cut.
