Packers final 53-man roster: Last 5 in

Malik Taylor, Yosh Nijman, Chauncey Rivers, Isaac Yiadom, Christian Uphoff

Malik Taylor had another amazing catch against the Bills, cementing his elite preseason. He showed out in all three games and can play special teams as well. Even with Devin Funchess’ season-ending injury, Taylor showed Green Bay they have great depth at their WR6 spot.

Yosh Nijman gets the nod over the sixth-rounder Van Lanen, as he played a ton of preseason time. The Packers are strong and versatile on the interior, but need a few more guys who can play either tackle position. Nijman will continue to battle with Dennis Kelly for the primary backup swing tackle spot.

Chauncey Rivers surprises everyone and makes the final roster at outside linebacker. With the Packers using Za’Darius Smith inside some and likely playing Smith alongside Preston Smith and Rashan Gary at the same time, they’ll want five edge rushers on their roster.

Finally, Isaac Yiadom and Christian Uphoff win two of the most anticipated position battles on the team this year. Yiadom was acquired from the New York Giants in the Josh Jackson trade. Uphoff was tremendous on special teams this preseason, an area the Packers desperately need players in.
