Packers: 8 key positions to watch in final preseason game
The Green Bay Packers only have one preseason game remaining–on Saturday against the Buffalo Bills. However, that doesn’t mean the front office’s work is about done, as they’ll have some really tough decisions to make on cutdown day. Most of those decisions will come down to a few key positions.
For most of the Packers’ roster, cutdown day will be uneventful. There are a number of guys who have their jobs locked up. However, there are a number of key players whose futures are still up in the air. Let’s take a look at eight positions to watch in the final exhibition game.

Packers key position to watch in final preseason game: Defensive Line
More specifically: Jack Heflin. Heflin is making a strong push for Green Bay to make one of two decisions: keep him over Tyler Lancaster or keep six defensive linemen. Considering the latter option is unlikely, another strong performance could force the Packers’ hand to keep Heflin over the disappointing Lancaster. Heflin has proven to be a nice run defender in preseason and another strong game will really shake things up at the position.
