We’ve now had about a month’s worth of training camp practices and two preseason games take place, which has helped paint a much clearer picture of what this 2021 Green Bay Packers roster could look like—or what it will at least look like initially.

The Green Bay Packers, as well as every other team, have just cut their rosters down to 80 players, and the final cut, which will put teams at 53 players, will come on August 31st.

But before we get to that point, there are still some practices and a preseason game left for those fringe roster players to impress. So based on what we’ve seen so far, here is how I have the final roster shaking out for the Green Bay Packers.

Quarterback (2): Aaron Rodgers and Jordan Love

The only real discussion here is whether the Green Bay Packers want to keep Kurt Benkert on the roster as the team’s third quarterback. If they’re worried about him making it to the practice squad and want him around for 2022 in a possible backup role just in case Rodgers is playing elsewhere; then maybe they decide to keep him.

With that said, it’s clear that this team is “all-in” on the 2021 season and devoting a roster spot to a third quarterback isn’t much of an all-in type of move. Benkert really impressed against the New York Jets, and hopefully, he makes his way to the Packers practice squad, but this is a roster spot that can be better utilized elsewhere.
