4. Oren Burks

When the Packers drafted Oren Burks in the third round of the 2018 NFL Draft, fans hoped he could become this hybrid between a safety and linebacker who could roam all over the field, covering running backs in the air attack and bringing them down in the ground game. After all, he appeared to have the speed and size to do so.

Unfortunately, he never turned into that type of player. In fact, he’s probably lucky he’s made it this long on the roster.

Burks had a great first preseason performance and has the opportunity to follow it up on Saturday afternoon. At this point, it’s unclear if he’s best at inside linebacker or on the edge. He and the coaching staff will have to figure that out as well as how to best utilize him on the football field. His 2020 performance won’t cut it this season.
