The Green Bay Packers have eight training camp practices under their belts heading into Family Night on Saturday. While it’s still fairly early on in the training camp and preseason schedule, there are players who are off to a fast start and trending up, but as always, there are also those whose stock is down.

Today we will be taking a look at those players whose stock is on the rise. There are, of course, others, but these five, in particular, have really stood out early on. Whether it be fighting for playing time or just a roster spot, these five have positioned themselves well early on.

Ben Braden – OL

Well, the hype from offensive line coach Adam Stenavich appears to be quite real. Coming into this season, Braden was primarily a practice squad player during his career with only five career NFL snaps–all of which came in 2020 with Green Bay. But during mini-camp, Stenavich told reporters that he expects Braden to compete for playing time at both guard at tackle, which so far he has.

With Elgton Jenkins at left tackle in David Bakhtiari’s absence, both guard positions are up for grabs. Competing for those two spots are three players–Braden, Lucas Patrick, and Jon Runyan. So far through camp, those three have been rotating in and out of the guard spots with the starting offense during practice.

The competition is still wide open, and I wouldn’t anticipate the rotating between those three to stop any time soon. Braden has positioned himself well early on.
