This is not a drill, the pads are on for the first time this summer! On Day 6 of training camp practices, things kicked up a notch for the Green Bay Packers as the pads finally came on.

In case you missed anything, here is rundown of what took place on Tuesday. As always, thank you to the reporters in attendance who kept us up to date. You can find their original tweets highlighted in each bullet point.

– In some surprising news, WR Bailey Gaither retired—he had made a several plays during camp so far. In his place, the Green Bay Packers signed 6’2” – 251 pound TE Daniel Crawford, a UDFA from Northern Illinois.

Darnell Savage got up slowly at met with trainers during a 1v1 rep with Robert Tonyan early on. He would eventually return.

– Andy Herman of Packer Report provides us with some breakdowns on how those 1v1 pass-catcher v. DB reps turned out:

– It’s a daily occurrence but Juwann Winfree continues to make plays each day—making a nice grab against Eric Stokes and flashing some quickness off the LOS.

– LB Kamal Martin went down in the 1v1 drills. Play was stopped but he did jog off on his own. He would return and as Tom Silverstein of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel notes, he saw some reps at OLB as well.

– Wes Hodkiewicz of Packers.com gives a look at a few of the 1v1 reps between the offensive linemen and the pass rushers:

– The starting OL today was Jenkins, Runyan, Myers, Braden, and Turner. Hodkiewicz notes that Runyan looked really good at left guard, as did Dean Lowry on the defensive side.

– A tough matchup for De’Vondre Campbell, he struggles to stick with Aaron Jones in coverage.

Elgton Jenkins won three straight reps at LT against Preston Smith.

– More 1v1 reps for the pass-catchers and DBs:

– From the sounds of it, we should all be really excited to see Rashan Gary this season.

– Packers taking it slow with Jaire Alexander as he once again sits out of the team portion of practice. He was banged up during Friday’s practice.

– A slow start to camp for Josh Jackson, but he has a nice rep against Davante Adams, being physical early on through off Rodgers’ and Adams’ timing.

– As expected with a new defense, the Green Bay Packers offense is having a lot more success then the defensive side of the ball.

– Larry McCarren noted that Chandon Sullivan was taking a bulk of the slot CB snaps with the 1s, but today, Shemar Jean-Charles saw a number of reps with the 2s—including a nice showing against Amari Rodgers and he made a play as a blitzer as well.

– Kylin Hill, Amari Rodgers, DeAndre Thompkins, and Chandon Sullivan all got looks as kick returners.

– Rookie Cole Van Lanen saw some reps at right tackle today. Meanwhile, Dennis Kelly also saw some reps there and did so with the 1s.

Winfree, St. Brown, and Funchess, all took special teams reps today. Special teams contributions could be the difference between making the roster and being cut.

– A tough day for Eric Stokes as he lost several reps to a few different receivers. These types of days are going to happen to every rookie.

– In addition to Alexander’s pick 6, TJ Slaton had one as well. Yes, TJ Slaton. He tipped a pass at the LOS and ran it back. As Cheesehead TV’s Aaron Nagler said, the “big man was movin’.”

– CB Kabion Ento gets one rep with the 1s and takes advantage, recording a pass-breakup. Ento has been getting consistent overall reps with the 2s.

– A pair of drops today from Davante Adams. Obviously nothing to worry about but very rare.

– Henry Black continues to take the dime safety snaps—perhaps the early favorite for that third safety role.

Aaron Rodgers to Robert Tonyan was nearly unstoppable today.
