The Green Bay Packers just finished up their fifth practice of training camp. Today’s practice included the return of the two minute drill and tomorrow we will see everyone in pads for the first time this summer.

Once again, thank you to those Green Bay Packers reporters in attendance who kept us up to date on what took place. Here is your rundown of what happened on the practice field today.

Za’Darius Smith was still out but was on the sidelines today. Meanwhile, Jaire Alexander was back after leaving Friday’s practice and missing the team portion on Saturday.

Jon Runyan saw more first team reps with the 1s at left guard while Ben Braden was at right guard. Braden also saw time at left guard with the 1s as well.

– Bronson Kaufusi, a former draft pick at DE and now converted TE, was getting some advice from Marcedes Lewis. Lewis has been invaluable in the development of Robert Tonyan.

– Several members of the defense have discussed the energy that Joe Barry brings and that’s easy to see on the practice field. He is non-stop and I love it.

Jordan Love was taking the last reps with the 1s every cycle, and he continues to battle inconsistencies. One play is an under thrown deep ball and the next is a strike for a touchdown.

– As Andy Herman of Packer Report pointed out in a recent article of his, Josh Jackson is running out of time.

– Aaron Rodgers continues working with both Love and Kurt Benkert. There have been multiple occasions each practice where he can be seen passing along some advice to the young quarterbacks.

Patrick Taylor was back on the field for his first practice. He is a very good fit for this Matt LaFleur offense with his added abilities as a pass-blocker and pass-catcher out of the backfield. Keep your eyes on him.

– In some not so good news, Randy Ramsey went down and had to be helped off the field. He is one of few players battling for that fourth edge rusher role.

– We heard Devin Funchess’ name called a few times today in team drills. As I noted last week, with that size of his he could be a really weapon out of the slot.

– DBs coach Jerry Gray was seen working with the IDL group on punching the ball out of the ball carriers hands. Gray spreading that DB wisdom of his to the front-7.

– This tweet from Aaron Nagler of Cheesehead TV sums of JK Scott’s time here in Green Bay quite well:

Royce Newman saw more work at guard with the 2s while Dennis Kelly was at right tackle.

– Along with Funchess, Equanimeous St. Brown made a few plays on offense as well. This is an incredibly important training camp for him.

– I’m not sure that there was, but there really shouldn’t be any concern about Elgton Jenkins at left tackle if that’s the route that Matt LaFleur decides to go in David Bakhtiari’s absence.

– Let’s see more crossing routes to Marquez Valdes-Scantling this season—getting him the ball in space and on the move. He broke one today for a big gain.

– In the 2 minute drill, we saw Henry Black opposite of Adrian Amos at safety. Early on, Black appears to have the advantage for that third safety opening.

– After Eric Stokes took his lumps the last two days against Davante Adams, he did find some success today.

Rashan Gary blew up a play in the 2 minute drill, rushing from the interior—something to watch moving forward.

– The Aaron Rodgers led 2 minute drill was moving the ball early but eventually stalled out and settled for a field goal after a third down pass breakup by Darnell Savage at the goal line. Rodgers was trying to connect with Robert Tonyan.

Mason Crosby went 5/8 in the field goal drill, missing from 36 yards, 45 yards, and 53 yards.
