The Green Bay Packers’ fourth training camp practice is now complete, and it was the longest of the week. The Packers are off on Sunday, will be back on the practice field Monday, and for the first time all summer, the pads will go on this Tuesday.

As always, here is a quick rundown of what took place on Saturday from the Green Bay Packers’ media members that were in attendance.

– During Marcedes Lewis’ first season with the Green Bay Packers, Robert Tonyan talked about how valuable his presence was on the practice field. And today, we once again saw Lewis working with Tonyan, this time on blocking. According to PFF ($$), Tonyan’s blocking grade went from 55.0 in 2019 to 68.6 this past year.

– There was one wide receiver drill where Davante Adams was in Chris Blair’s ear for not finishing out the rep at full speed. As Aaron Nagler said, “the standard is the standard.”

– Once again, guard Simon Stepaniak was not on the practice field today.

– As I noted on Friday, Jaire Alexander did leave practice at one point, and today he was not participating in team reps. That meant that Eric Stokes and Josh Jackson were the top-2 CBs today, and both were cooked by Adams.

– UDFA Bailey Gaither continues making a big play or two each practice. While we won’t see him in 2021, given the Green Bay Packers’ need at the receiver position in 2022, he could take on a bigger role at that time after a year on the practice squad.

– Another UDFA who has caught the eyes of Packer Report’s Andy Herman is Carlo Kemp from Michigan. He is transitioning from an edge rusher to an interior defender with the Green Bay Packers.

– The first few practices, we’ve seen our fair share of Adrian Amos in the box, and today it was Henry Black who joined Darnell Savage in that two-high safety look. Earlier in the week, we saw Vernon Scott in that role. Will Redmond is still on the NFI list.

– With De’Vondre Campbell, Krys Barnes, and Kamal Martin roster locks at LB, it would appear that Ty Summers is first in line for that fourth LB spot based on early performances.

– Dexter Williams continues to work on his pass-catching abilities, an area that has hindered him in the past.

– OL coach Adam Stenavich told us that they would take a look at Ben Braden at both guard and tackle this summer, and once again, he was at left guard with the 1s today.

– A nice rep from Jordan Love as he navigates a collapsing pocket and finds Randall Cobb on an off-balanced throw.

– After another nice play from TJ Slaton where he makes a play in the backfield, Andy Herman notes that the rookie is off to a “strong start.”

Bronson Kaufusi is a former draft pick at defensive end but is making the transition to tight end–a very difficult one to make. Today he had a drop down the sidelines. Herman mentioned that the transition is “coming along slowly,” which is to be expected.

– Kamal Martin makes a play, breaking up a pass to tight end Isaac Nauta. Nauta is another lesser-known name that appears to be getting involved these first few days.

– With the versatility and depth of this offensive line unit, it is going to be very interesting to see what the starting configuration is come Week 1. This group, once again, can be very good.

– Andy Herman on rookie center Josh Myers:

– In an interesting twist, Jon Runyan was taking some snaps at center with the second team. He did also botch one of those snaps as well.

– During a break, Aaron Rodgers put his arm around Stokes, and the two were having a talk. Maybe it was Rodgers saying “welcome to the NFL,” or more likely he was giving the rookie some advice–and that’s always nice to see.

– Rodgers and Adams are both on another level already. With Alexander out, the duo did pretty much whatever they wanted today, and that’s been the case since practices began.

Jordan Love is learning from the best and again almost gets the defense to jump offsides with a hard count.

– We are likely going to see much more of AJ Dillon in the passing game than what some may expect, and during a break, Marquez Valdes-Scantling was passing along some route-running advice to Dillon.

Kylin Hill continues to impress with the ball in his hands. So smooth, and he has very good wiggle.
