Hamsah Nasirildeen

And now for my personal favorite pick for this position. Where Nasirildeen will fall in the draft is a huge question mark as he only played in two games in 2020 after tearing his ACL in 2019. The best estimates are that he’ll go somewhere on day two, and that could be a home run for the Packers.

Nasirildeen is a heat-seeking missile on defense and is always looking to jar the ball loose will a big hit. In his junior season, he forced three fumbles and could very easily do the same in the NFL. He has the most speed when he’s coming downhill, which helps him be a big hitter, but also makes him the best candidate to graduate from this spot to a potential replacement for Adrian Amos in a year or two.

His versatility factor is slightly different than the others in that he didn’t play as much in the box but took plenty of reps in the slot and held his own, even picking off a pass in man coverage against Boston College, using his fantastic ability to drive on the ball and attack it in the air.

When he is playing down by the line of scrimmage, he gets off blocks well, using his blend of size, power, and quickness to make plays. His tackling, like Hufanga, is too shoulder-dependent, and while he usually hits guys hard enough to put them in the ground, it won’t be quite as easy at the next level, and he needs to learn to use his arms to bring ballcarriers to the ground.

Nasirildeen is a dynamic defender and a true playmaker, and if it weren’t for his injury concerns, we might be talking about a first-round draft pick. If the Packers can snatch him on day two, they could be getting a star in their defense for years to come.
