The Green Bay Packers have done a nice job of putting themselves in a position to succeed in the 2021 NFL Draft. That’s life for a team that has made consecutive NFC Championship games and is solid at just about every position.

Don’t get me wrong. That doesn’t mean they don’t have room to upgrade their roster, because they certainly do. What general manager Brian Gutekunst has done, however, is ensure his team doesn’t have any immediate glaring needs entering the 2021 season. That’s an impressive feat considering the extremely limited salary cap space he had to work with this offseason.

In order for the Packers to have a perfect draft, however, they must follow some rules that are specific to their team. Let’s take look at five simple steps Gutekunst and Green Bay must follow to make sure they give their team the best chance to succeed next season.

The Green Bay Packers can smash the 2021 NFL Draft out of the park by following a simple formula to address all their needs.

Packers’ step for perfect 2021 NFL Draft: Add a defensive lineman early

One of the few weaknesses on this Packers’ squad is at defensive line. Other than stud Kenny Clark, they don’t really have someone they can count on. Both Dean Lowry and Tyler Lancaster have seriously disappointed the past two years and Montravius Adams has moved to another team. That means Green Bay needs to add a quality lineman early who can get on the field right away by the end of Day 2. That’s a doable task considering the players who project to be available when the Packers are on the clock.
