The Green Bay Packers could look to upgrade their wide receiver position this offseason despite some improved performances in 2020. One way they could go about doing that is through free agency.

Davante Adams is currently the gold standard in the entire NFL at the position, but the Packers don’t have a proven option behind him on the depth chart. Allen Lazard started out hot, but didn’t pick up where he left off following his return from injury. Marquez Valdes-Scantling was terrific at getting open deep downfield, but was very inconsistent at, you know, actually catching the ball. Then there’s still the looming of 2019 free-agent addition Devin Funchess and whether Green Bay will keep him around after he sat out the covid-season. If the Packers due dip their toe into the free-agent pool at wide receiver, they could target these five players.

The Green Bay Packers could target any of these five wide receivers in free agency to bolster the position for the 2021 season.

Wide receiver Packers should target in free agency: Breshad Perriman

A former first-round pick, Breshad Perriman has failed to live up to the hype, and has now played for four teams in his five-year career. The good news is he’s racked up at least 30 receptions and 505 yards in each of the last two seasons. He still has great speed which the Packers need more of and that would play out well in the plethora of crossers head coach Matt LaFleur loves to run. He might be worth a flyer for some depth at the position.
