Now that the Super Bowl has been played and completed, the 2020 season is officially over. That leaves us to ponder what the Green Bay Packers‘ offseason holds, specifically free agency and the draft. And with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ victory fresh on our mind, let’s have a mock draft following somewhat in the footprint of their blueprint to success.

Last week, we used The Draft Network’s spectacular mock draft simulator and let the computer do the dirty work. This time around, we’ll use the same mock draft simulator, except yours truly made the selections. Let’s go pick by pick and see how this beaut unfolded.

Here is a seven-round mock draft for the Green Bay Packers 2021 NFL Draft following the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ Super Bowl victory.

Packers’ mock draft Round 1 (29th overall): Alex Leatherwood, OT,  Alabama

Protection was key in the Super Bowl as Tom Brady patiently navigated the pocket and tore apart the Kansas City Chiefs’ defense while Patrick Mahomes ran for his life and struggled as a result. The Packers gave Aaron Rodgers good protection all season long, but struggled in the NFC Championship game without the injured David Bakhtiari. Adding an offensive tackle in the first round will not only provide added insurance while Bakhtiari recovers, but also give them a potential long-term replacement for Billy Turner.
