With the Super Bowl yet to be played, it’s, unfortunately, time for the Green Bay Packers to direct their full attention toward the offseason. While the more immediate need is to fill the defensive coordinator position, we’ll take a moment and focus on the all-important 2021 NFL Draft by conducting our own mock draft.

Thanks to the amazing mock draft tool at The Draft Network, I was able to conduct a full seven-round draft using their predictive board and allowing the computer to make my selections. Let’s find out just how smart the computer actually is.

Let’s do a seven-round mock draft for the Green Bay Packers 2021 NFL Draft following the annual Senior Bowl event.

Packers Round 1 (29th overall): Jalen Mayfield, OT, Michigan

This may not be a sexy pick, but it’s definitely a position of need heading into the 2021 season. David Bakhtiari’s recovery speed from his torn ACL suffered on New Year’s Eve is unknown, but even if he recovers in time to start Week 1, the Packers still have a huge question mark at right tackle. It’s unlikely Rick Wagner returns considering the reduced salary cap situation and Billy Turner will probably be needed on the inside. Jalen Mayfield could come in and start right away for the Packers from Day 1. Exactly what they need.
