The Wisconsin Football program received more good news on Sunday as WR Kendric Pryor announced he would be back for 2021.

After beating Wake Forest last Wednesday, the Wisconsin Football program has received some good news since then as Jake Ferguson, Jack Sanborn, and Faion Hicks all announced that they would be returning for the 2021 season.

And joining those three, we learned on Sunday evening that wide receiver Kendric Pryor will be back as well, with an extra year of eligibility granted by the NCAA due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Pryor was coming off a 2019 season where he hauled in 23 receptions on 34 targets for 278 yards. The year before that, he put up similar numbers with 23 completions on 40 targets for 273 yards but this time scoring three touchdowns.

Along with Danny Davis, Pryor was going to be one of the top receivers in the offense this season. Unfortunately, that’s not how things played out, with both receivers battling injuries for much of the year. When it was all said and done, Pryor saw action in only three games — against Illinois, Michigan, and Indiana — while catching eight of 13 passes for 119 yards, according to Pro Football Focus ($).

As we are all aware, this was a tough season for the Badger offense. Graham Mertz took his lumps, struggling with accuracy and confidence at times, while as a whole, the offense failed to move the ball with any regularity. With that said, it certainly didn’t help that they were without both Pryor and Davis for much of the year.

At this time, we do not know whether or not Davis will be back, but Pryor’s return will provide a welcomed and somewhat unexpected boost. Joining Pryor will be tight end Jake Ferguson, receivers Chimere Dike and Devin Chandler, and incoming freshmen Skyler Bell and Markus Allen.
