The Milwaukee Brewers have a gaping hole at third base to fill, and any of these three guys at different price points could come in and do the job.

It’s no secret that the Milwaukee Brewers badly need some offensive help before the 2021 season starts. Their third base situation is up in the air right now as Jedd Gyorko, and Eric Sogards’ club options were both declined, and the only remaining member on the major league roster with much experience at the position is Luis Urias who had an underwhelming season at the plate.

Fortunately for the Brewers, there is a lot of uncertainty still looming around the 2021 season, and that could lead teams to not give players big contracts over multiple years. As a small-market team, Milwaukee really doesn’t have the financial flexibility to sign star players to multi-year deals. For the last five years, Ryan Braun was the one big contract on the books, and that’s been replaced by Christian Yelich’s new deal.

They have, however, shown the ability to open their wallet for a big one-year deal. They did just that in 2019 with both Yasmani Grandal and Mike Moustakas, and both were All-Stars. This should give us all a bit of hope that they’ll do something similar again this year if the opportunity arises, and maybe it’ll be at third base.

Don’t worry, though, if a big name signing doesn’t work out; there are still some serviceable options that could give the Brewers a boost on offense from what they had last year at a much more affordable price for a team looking to save money in any way possible.
