With the NFL trade deadline approaching, these are three wide receivers that the Green Bay Packers should strongly consider targeting.

Week 8 of the NFL season is upon us, and that also means that the trade deadline is only a few days away as well. For the Green Bay Packers, they have established themselves as one of the top teams in the NFC, and although they typically remain quiet at the trade deadline, as a legitimate Super Bowl contender, the right acquisition could be what puts them over the top.

And as has been the case since the 2020 offseason began, the receiver position is at the forefront of everyone’s mind, including the Packers. Cheesehead TV’s Aaron Nagler recently reported that Green Bay is “definitely calling around about wide receivers.”

Of course, as I’m sure we all remember, Green Bay didn’t select a receiver during the draft and their only significant offseason acquisition, Devin Funchess, decided to opt-out. This left the Packers with the relatively same group as they had in 2019, and over the last two weeks, without Allen Lazard, we’ve seen this unit – minus Davante Adams – performing similarly to what they did last season.

Against Houston, we saw the Green Bay receivers not named Adams haul in only two receptions on seven targets for six yards. However, to his credit, Malik Taylor did find the end zone. The previous week in Tampa Bay, that same group would catch four passes on nine targets for 48 yards.

Despite the inconsistencies at the receiver position, the Green Bay Packers still have one of the most productive offenses in the NFL. But there is certainly no such thing as having too much firepower. So with that in mind, these are three receivers that GM Brian Gutekunst should be targeting as the trade deadline approaches.
