Before the Green Bay Packers take on the Atlanta Falcons, our crew at Dairyland Express gives our weekly predictions. Here is who comes away with the win.

It’s Week 4 and the red-hot Green Bay Packers will take on a struggling Atlanta Falcons team that will enter Monday night’s showdown desperate for a win.

Green Bay is coming off its biggest win of the season after going on the road and beating the New Orleans Saints. The offense has been one of the most productive in the NFL up to this point, leading the league in points per game while ranking second overall by DVOA. Although the defense has taken their lumps, they continue to come up with turnovers and big stops when needed.

Meanwhile, the Falcons are trending in the opposite direction. While they could very easily be 2-1 entering this matchup, they have blown back-to-back fourth-quarter leads and remain winless. With that said, this is still a very potent offense and not a team to be taken lightly.

As always, our crew here at Dairyland Express has our weekly predictions, giving our thoughts on the matchup along with a final score. And of course, we are keeping track of our overall records so we can crown our own champion at the end of the year.

Brian Sampson (2-1)

The Green Bay Packers have taken a HUGE Year 2 offensive leap under Matt LaFleur and there’s absolutely no reason that shouldn’t continue in Week 4 against the horrendous Atlanta Falcons’ defense. Even without Allen Lazard and possibly Davante Adams.

I’m excited to see what players rise to the challenge and also about Josiah Deguara’s possible return. The Packers should also get Kenny Clark back which would be a huge boost for their defense. I’ll take the green and gold in another high scoring affair.

Prediction: Falcons 28 – Packers 38

Kenny Jilek (2-1)

This game has all the makings of a classic shootout with two very potent offenses and two of the worst defenses in the league so far. It also features two quarterbacks who aren’t afraid to air it out. However, like last week, both top receivers could be out which hinders each offense.

The Green Bay Packers offense still rolled last week without Davante Adams, but without Allen Lazard as well they’ll slow down. However, they’ll still score enough to win, hopefully utilizing Aaron Jones’ receiving talents as well as their tight ends.

The Falcons have started the season a very frustrating 0-3, blowing two huge late leads to the Bears and Cowboys. This year, the Packers strategy has been dependent on having a lead so the opponent can’t run the ball in the second half. If the Falcons can get a lead, this might be the week they hold it with the Packers’ inability to defend the run. However, I think the Packers will jump ahead in the first half again and manage to win against a team who by all metrics they should beat.

Prediction: Falcons 24 – Packers 31

Paul Bretl (3-0)

Yes, Allen Lazard is out and Davante Adams could be as well. However, I wrote an article earlier this week stating that this offense should still put up points against Atlanta, who by many metrics, has one of the worst defenses in the NFL.

Aaron Rodgers is playing at an elite level, they still have Aaron Jones, and Matt LaFleur has been excellent calling plays. While the receiver room may be shorthanded, between the running backs and tight ends, there are still plenty of pass-catching options available.

To put it simply, this group is as well equipped as it has been in years to handle not having two of their top receiving targets if that’s how things play out.

Defensively, the Packers will be up against a Falcons’ offense that will attack downfield and we will see Green Bay give up the big play here and there. But overall, the Packers are the better team and they will win this game fairly comfortably.

Prediction: Falcons 24- Packers 34
