Make sure you keep your eye on the Green Bay Packers’ injuries, including Davante Adams and Corey Linsley, ahead of their Week 3 matchup vs Saints.

The Green Bay Packers dropped 40-plus points for the second time in two games when they defeated the Detroit Lions 42-21 in Week 2. However, a couple of key players went down, including stud wide receiver Davante Adams and center Corey Linsley, in the process.

As seemingly the rest of the NFL is dealing with injuries to star players, the Packers are hoping they aren’t in the same boat when it comes to Adams. Adams initially came out of the ballgame with what appeared to be an ankle injury, but later returned and caught a few passes. However, he was out for good in the second half and was often seen standing on the sidelines without his helmet on.

It was later announced as a hamstring issue and head coach Matt LaFleur provided some more clarity on Monday. While speaking with reports, LaFleur said, “I know he wanted to go back in the game. I just told him, ‘Hey, let’s see how these next few series go, and see if we need you’ Obviously, he’s a huge part of what we do offensively and a key member of this football team. If we don’t need him, we didn’t want to put him back in a position to do further harm to his own body.”

Fortunately, Green Bay didn’t need him as they continued to pile on the points and put the Lions away. Hopefully, Adams will be good to go for their Week 3 showdown against the New Orleans Saints. The Saints are already dealing with an injury to their own star receiver in Michael Thomas, whose status is unclear for next week.

The Packers also lost Linsley during the game due to a hand injury. LaFleur didn’t have much light to shed on his status next week, only linking the obvious that it would be difficult for their center to snap the ball while dealing with a hand injury.

It will also be critical to keep an eye on Kenny Clark‘s status. Clark missed Week 2 and Green Bay’s defensive line clearly missed him. We don’t know much right now, but will likely receive clarity as the week goes on.
