Before the Green Bay Packers take on the Detroit Lions, here are three bold predictions for Sunday’s NFC North matchup.

It’s Week 2, and that means bold predictions are back! Last week, I went one for three as the Green Bay Packers cruised to a relatively easy win over the Minnesota Vikings with the offense leading the way. This week I’m expecting much of the same as a red-hot Aaron Rodgers should be able to take advantage of this depleted Detroit defense.

So as I’m sure you can guess, I’ve got a few bold predictions for the Packers’ offense this week as I expect them to have their way against the Lions’ defense. Let’s dive in.

Aaron Rodgers throws for 350 yards

Last week, one of my predictions was that Rodgers would throw for over 300 hundred yards, which is something that he did just four times all of last year. Well, he and his receivers went nuts on the young Vikings’ cornerbacks, as Rodgers totaled 364 yards through the air, and I’m expecting a similar performance.

To put it simply, this Lions’ secondary is depleted. Justin Coleman was sent to IR earlier this week, and we learned that Desmond Trufant will be held out of Sunday’s game. On top of that, Darryl Roberts is listed as questionable, and that leaves Detroit with rookie Jeff Okudah. Aaron Rodgers and Davante Adams should each have big days once again, and Allen Lazard and Marquez Valdes-Scantling will join in on the fun as well.

Green Bay Packers put up 40 points again

We saw Green Bay drop 43 points on the Vikings last week, and truthfully, they should do it again. As I’ve already mentioned, Rodgers and company will be up against a beaten up Lions’ secondary, which should lead to plenty of big plays. Additionally, Detroit gave up nearly 150 rushing yards to Chicago last week, and I don’t seem them having an answer for Aaron Jones, Jamaal Williams, and A.J. Dillon. The Packers’ offense dominates again.

AJ Dillon scores his first NFL touchdown

We saw Dillon get only two carries last week, but he managed to total 14 yards, and my goodness, does he run angry. Earlier this week, when talking with reporters, Matt LaFleur discussed giving Dillon more opportunities, and I believe we will see those opportunities take place in the red zone, where Green Bay struggled early last week, and in the fourth quarter when they are facing a tired Detroit defense. Either way, Dillon finds the end zone.
