With the Green Bay Packers’ initial 53-man roster set, these are three big questions surrounding this team.

Cut day across the NFL came and went on Saturday as teams, including the Green Bay Packers, reduced their rosters from 80 players down to 53.

Although this year, with practices closed to the public and no preseason games to dissect, it was much more difficult to gauge how the team is going to look, based on the live tweets from the Packers’ writers and the articles that they posted afterward, I am very encouraged by what was reported.

After coming just one game shy of the Super Bowl in 2019, the Packers are absolutely banking on the internal development of their 2018 and 2019 draft classes to get them over that hump, along with the offense taking a big step forward in Year 2 under Matt LaFleur. And by all accounts, there’s plenty to be excited about on these fronts.

Young players like Rashan Gary, Marquez Valdes-Scantling, Allen Lazard, and Chandon Sullivan, among others, all had terrific camps. While Aaron Rodgers has been “dialed in” after watching some old tape of himself from the 2010 season and making an adjustment.

However, there are still some questions that remain as well. Now, every team has some question marks on their roster; this isn’t something that only the Packers are affected by. But with that said, after trimming their roster, there are three positions, in particular, that have some unknowns entering Week 1.
