It’s been reported by ESPN’s Adam Schefter that the Green Bay Packers have brought in wide receiver Chester Rogers for a visit.

Although the Green Bay Packers – along with the rest of the NFL – have to make their final roster cuts on Saturday, per Adam Schefter, free-agent wide receiver Chester Rogers is in Titletown for a visit.

Rogers was an undrafted rookie out of Grambling State in 2016 who spent his first four seasons with the Indianapolis Colts. Over his four years in Indy, Rogers would appear in 53 games, including 22 starts while hauling in 111 receptions with a catch rate of nearly 65 percent. He would also total 1,221 at a modest 11 yards per catch with five touchdowns.

His best individual season came in 2018, where he posted 485 receiving yards, albeit at only 9.2 yards per catch with two touchdowns. Rogers also has experience as a kick and punt return man as well.

It’s also worth mentioning that Pro Football Focus has credited Rogers with 17 drops in his career, including 13 over the last two seasons on 100 targets.

At 6’0″ – 184 pounds, Rogers is a good but not great athlete by the Relative Athletic Scoring table metric with a score of 7.48 out of 10 along with a 40-time of 4.51. While he’s lined up both in the slot and out wide, the Colts primarily used Rogers as a slot receiver.

Rogers signed with the Miami Dolphins at the beginning of August but was recently released, and now he hopes to find a home with the Green Bay Packers. While at this stage of the game, we shouldn’t expect Rogers to come in and make the 53-man roster, in what will undoubtedly be an unusual season, as GM Brian Gutekunst put it, it’s going to take all 69 players in 2020.
