The Best and Worst-case scenarios of every Green Bay Packers’ player series continues today with fullbacks and tight ends.

Fullbacks and tight ends might not always be the flashiest players, but they’re essential to the offense that Matt LaFleur wants the Green Bay Packers to be running. Having bigger personnel on the field is part of LaFleur’s offense, and it will play a more significant role this season.

Last season, the offense was still a mix of what Mike McCarthy had run and LaFleur’s new stuff, but this year will be more pure LaFleur. This will lead to less three wide receiver sets and more bulk on the field to bolster the run game. This is why they drafted Josiah Deguara in the third round.

In total, there are seven guys on the roster who fit the description of more bulk on the field. Only one, John Lovett, is officially listed as a fullback, but Deguara and others will spend time in the backfield to lead the way for running backs.

For this article, players will be grouped by their playstyles and where they will likely line up. Lovett and Deguara are the most likely to play off the line of scrimmage, so they are together. James Looney, Evan Baylis, and Mercedes Lewis have their own category as blocking tight ends. The final group of Jace Sternberger and Robert Tonyan are the more receiving focused guys.
