4-Star WR Jerry Cross sets a commitment date as Wisconsin Football hopes to land their second member of the 2022 class.
If you’re not familiar yet with the state of Wisconsin’s 2022 “Super 6,” well, it’s time to start. This group includes S Braelon Allen, OT Joe Brunner, OG Carson Hinzman, DE Isaac Hamm, DT Billy Schrauth, and WR Jerry Cross, all of whom have 4-star ratings at the moment by 247Sports.
Over the last few years, each Badger recruiting class receives a higher ranking than the one before it. The 2020 crew set a Wisconsin Football record with a national ranking of 26th, the 2021 class appears to be on their way to breaking that mark, and if the Badgers can land four of five members of the Super 6, well, the 2022 class could very well end up being the best in program history.
Just last week, Braelon Allen from Fond Du Lac would announce his commitment to Wisconsin, and recently on Twitter, Jerry Cross set a commitment date for next Tuesday.
At 6’6″ – 218 pounds, Cross is the sixth-ranked tight end in the country according to 247Sports composite rankings, however, the Badgers are recruiting him as a receiver. During his sophomore season at Milwaukee King High School in 2019, Cross would total 28 receptions for 533 yards with 11 touchdown receptions.
In addition to Wisconsin, Cross has also received offers from Penn State, Iowa, Iowa State, Michigan, Michigan State, and Purdue. While he hasn’t officially eliminated any of the other schools from contention, it is believed that he is deciding between Wisconsin and Penn State with 247Sports crystal ball predictions favoring the Nittany Lions.
Wisconsin already has one commitment from the 2022 Super 6 in Allen, will Cross be the second?
