Wisconsin Football: Another 2021 Commitment is on the Horizon
By Paul Bretl
The “Bat Signal” has been tweeted and it looks like the Wisconsin Football program is getting another 2021 commitment in the next few days.
After Wisconsin Football’s 2020 class set a new benchmark in recruiting with a national ranking of 26th overall – the best in program history during the Online Rankings Era – and five 4-star recruits – another program best – the 2021 class appears to be on their way to breaking those records.
Headlined by J.P. Benzschawel, Riley Mahlman, Hunter Wohler, Jack Pugh, and the most recent commitment from T.J. Bollers, the Badgers’ 2021 class has already tied the program record with five 4-star commitments. And there are still about six months to go before signing day for them to break that mark set by the 2020 class.
As a whole, the 2021 class is currently ranked 12th in the nation by 247Sports and as the third-best in the Big Ten Conference with 14 commitments. As good as this class already is, of course, the opportunity to continue improving this group is still in front of Coach Paul Chryst as they are going to add more scholarship players between now and signing day.
And speaking of adding more scholarship players, it looks like the 15th commitment could be happening any day now. On Twitter, the “Bat Signal’ for the 2021 class was posted on June 17th by Jensen Gebhardt, the Recruiting Analyst for Wisconsin Football, and also by Saeed Khalif, the Badgers’ Director of Player Personnel.

Throughout the recruiting process, the hashtag #Wiscon21n has helped sparked excitement through Badger Nation and meant that a new commitment was on the horizon. One name, in particular, to keep your eyes on in the next few days is 3-star cornerback Ricardo Hallman from Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
Hallman has been linked to the Badgers for some time now and 247Sports has Wisconsin has the favorite to land him. Oh, and there was this tweet sent out by Hallman recently that suggests he’s ready to make his announcement:

A few other names that the Badgers have been pursuing include 5-star offensive lineman Nolan Rucci, 4-star tight end Terrance Ferguson, and 3-star wide receiver Skyler Bell, among others.
Although we don’t know for sure, Hallman appears to be the most likely to commit in the next few days. But what we do know for sure is that the 15th commitment is coming and the 2021 class is going to continue getting even better.
