Allen Lazard

Whether you watched every 2019 Green Bay Packers’ game on the edge of your seat or just saw a few games here and there, it was pretty easy to tell that they were lacking some playmaking ability at the wide receiver position. Fortunately, we saw the emergence of Allen Lazard over the second half of the season, and the Packers are going to need him to build upon that performance in 2020.

During free agency, Green Bay would sign Devin Funchess, however, he missed just about all of the 2019 season with a collar bone injury and his best season was back in 2017. While there are certainly reasons to be excited about the addition, we still don’t know for sure what we will get from him.

Add in the fact that Green Bay didn’t draft a receiver in what was a loaded class and we don’t truly know who is going to be the Robin to Davante Adams’ Batman. Although Lazard is a popular choice and for good reasons.

Lazard would quickly earn the trust of Aaron Rodgers after a spectacular Week 6 performance on Monday Night against Detroit and became one of his most trusted third-down targets as the season went on. Overall he would total 477 receiving yards at 13.6 yards per catch with three touchdowns while hauling in over 67 percent of his passes.

The passing game last season was very inconsistent outside of when Adams was targeted and if Lazard can not only duplicate his 2019 performance but also improve upon it, that will go a long way in helping the overall effectiveness of this offense.
