Per Reports, it looks like the 2019-2020 NBA season is going to resume and the Milwaukee Bucks will get a shot at winning the NBA Title.

Slowly but surely we’ve begun to see sports around the world return. And it looks like the NBA is next as they finalize the logistics behind resuming the 2019-2020 season.

Of course, as fans of the Milwaukee Bucks, we would love to see the season resume and come to a conclusion. Prior to its postponement, the Bucks were an NBA best 53-12 led by Giannis Antetokounumpo who was putting together another MVP season.

Although nothing is official yet as a vote will take place Thursday afternoon to ratify, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN seems pretty confident as he tweeted out on Wednesday, “The NBA’s back.”

So what will the remainder of the season and the playoffs look like for the Milwaukee Bucks and the rest of the NBA?

Well, the season will begin on July 31st and all games will be played at Walt Disney World in Florida where they have plenty of space to house the teams as well as the basketball facilities on hand. And as expected, games will not be played in front of fans.

However, not all of the 30 NBA teams will be participating. Instead, it will be 22 teams made up of the current 16 playoff teams, along with New Orleans, Portland, Phoenix, Sacramento, San Antonio, and Washington as reported by Woj. This comes out to 13 teams from the West and nine from the East vying for playoff spots.

Only eight regular-season games will be played before the playoffs begin and if the nine seed is more than four games behind the eight seed, then the eight seed will automatically be in the playoffs. On the flip side, if the nine seed is less than four games back of the eight seed, there will be a play-in scenario that is single-elimination for the nine seed and double-elimination for the eight seed.

From the Bucks’ perspective, they currently have a 6.5 game lead over the Toronto Raptors for the one-seed in the East, which should all but assure them of entering the playoffs as the top-seed given that there are only eight regular-season games to be played. Milwaukee would have to go 1-7 or 0-8 while the Raptors go undefeated in order to be overtaken.

As far as who they play in those eight games, it was reported by Vincent Goodwill that teams will pick up their schedule where it left off prior to the season being suspended. However, if the opponent is a team that won’t be playing – such as the Chicago Bulls – you simply move on to the next game on the schedule.

So for the Bucks, they will be playing Boston, Miami, Memphis, Washington twice, Houston, Dallas, and Toronto.

With all of the games being played in the Orlando Area, the Bucks won’t have the Fiserv Forum’s home-court advantage but claiming the one-seed is still important as it creates an easier path to the finals. As it currently stands, Milwaukee would play the Magic in Round 1 and they would avoid Toronto, Boston, and possibly Philadelphia in Round 2.

But with that said, the NBA is also looking into a few other alternatives outside of home-court advantage to provide the better team some slight benefit. And if anything, they certainly are creative:

I for one know that I would love to see Giannis given seven fouls before he fouls out of a game.

There still may be a few things to iron out and nothing is set in stone yet, but it certainly looks like the NBA is going to do everything that they can to finish out the 2019-2020 season and crown a Champion. And when it comes to the Milwaukee Bucks, they’ll have the opportunity to cap off what has been a dominant season with a Championship.
