Reggie Begelton – WR

By now we are all well versed in the fact that the Green Bay Packers were lacking at the wide receiver position in 2019. And while the expectations for former CFL star, Reggie Begelton, shouldn’t be that he is going to step in and be the team’s No. 2 receiver, what he can do is provide the Packers with a reliable target and some much-needed playmaking ability with the ball in his hands.

Begelton spent the last three seasons in the CFL but it was this past year where he caught the attention of NFL personnel. In 2019 he would record 102 receptions, hauling in almost 71 percent of the passes thrown his way for 1,444 yards, 519 of which came after the catch, along with 10 touchdowns.

I know that production came in the CFL and not the NFL, but those are still some impressive numbers. On top of that, he is already on Head Coach Matt LaFleur’s radar with how well he has done in the team meetings this offseason.

Ultimately we don’t know how well Begelton will adjust to the NFL game and he will likely be battling with Jake Kumerow, Malik Taylor, and Darrius Shepherd for the sixth receiver spot. However, if he makes the final 53 – which I think he has a good chance of – I could very easily see him taking some meaningful snaps this season and making some plays for this offense while he does it.
