Ka’dar Hollman – CB

As a former sixth-round draft pick now entering Year 2, I wouldn’t call Ka’dar Hollman a roster lock, but given his skill-set and the overall depth of the Green Bay Packers’ cornerback room, I’d say he’s pretty close.

Last season was essentially a red-shirt season for Hollman who was inactive for 14 games and only saw four defensive snaps when he was available. However, it was during the preseason and training camp where he was able to make some noise.

Take it as you will since it is only the preseason, but during his three games Hollman would record eight tackles, an interception, and a pass breakup. On top of that he quickly caught Mike Pettine’s attention in practice with his ability in press-man coverage, which is a staple of this defense.

Looking ahead to this season we know that Jaire Alexander and Kevin King will be responsible for the outside, my guess is that Chandon Sullivan takes over in the slot, but after that, we run into a lot of unknowns with this unit. Not to mention that injuries happen over the course of a season.

This will be Hollman’s second year in Pettine’s system, he’s an excellent athlete, and as I already mentioned, his press-man coverage abilities make him an ideal fit for this defense. I expect to see much more Hollman in 2020.
