Although the 2020 NFL Draft is only a few weeks old for the Green Bay Packers, these are three wide receiver prospects – along with a few honorable mentions – from the 2021 class to keep your eyes on.

As we all know the Green Bay Packers started the 2020 draft by taking a quarterback in round 1 and a running back in round 2. Long story short, we were left disappointed. We were all hoping for a big-name wide receiver on either day 1 or 2 and clearly we didn’t get that.

Word on the street was that the Packers’ front office was in talks to move up for two different receivers in the second round of the draft, which obviously didn’t work out. And take it as you will, but this shows that the organization understands that this is still an area of need.

Unless someone emerges, at this point, the Green Bay Packers don’t appear to have a strong number two receiver. It’s also worth pointing out that Davante Adams is only under contract through the 2021 season. While that bumps up this position group significantly for the time being, his future beyond 2021 is unknown.

Without question, the Packers front office will have to address the wide receiver position in the 2021 offseason.

Some of the top prospects in next year’s draft include Ja’Marr Chase of LSU who is the reigning Biletnikoff Award winner which is given to the nation’s best wide receiver. While Justyn Ross of Clemson has been extremely productive, even with former teammate Tee Higgins stealing targets.

Both Chase and Ross look like future top ten picks, so I’m not expecting either to be available when the Packers make their first-round selection. But this 2021 class is still full of receivers that fit this Green Bay offense and hopefully, will be available when the Packers are on the clock.
