The Green Bay Packers now have a roster spot open, so here are some remaining free agents to keep your eyes on over the next few days.

The NFL Draft is over but that doesn’t mean that the Green Bay Packers are quite done tweaking their roster. As we are all well aware, this draft went about the exact opposite of what just about every fan and draft analyst expected. Which means a few positions could still use a boost.

At this point in free agency, we can’t expect the Packers to find a game-changer, however, they could give some weaker positions a boost and there are still a few potential contributors available on the open market.

Earlier today Green Bay’s roster sat at 90, which is the limit, but just recently it was reported that they released quarterback Manny Wilkins. That move would indicate that an addition is going to follow at some point to fill the roster out. And if they do in fact add someone via free agency, I see it being a receiver, a cornerback, or an interior defensive lineman.

Although it appears that after how the draft went, the Packers could be shifting to a more run-heavy offense, the receiver position still did underwhelm last year and they still do have Aaron Rodgers under center. So it’s not like they are going to become the Tennessee Titans.

Meanwhile, the cornerback room still has its question marks and Kenny Clark still needs help inside.

A few other positions that have received some attention this offseason include linebacker, tight end, and tackle. However, with the additions of Kamal Martin and Josiah Deguara in the draft – yes, I know he will be an H-back – I don’t see linebacker or tight end being a priority. And when it comes to tackle, this roster is full of offensive line options, so I don’t see them going that route either.

Yet with that said, if this draft has taught us anything, it’s that we really have no clue what GM Brian Gutekunst is thinking and any one of these positions could be addressed.

So as we look ahead, if the Green Bay Packers are going to make an addition, it is likely to happen sooner than later. And while there are many more players available than what I have listed here, given the positions and skill-sets, this group makes the most sense for Green Bay.
