Caesars Sportsbook has released their Super Bowl odds for the 2020 season and as expected, the Green Bay Packers are one of the favorites.

It’s that time of the year where odds for the upcoming NFL season are being released and when it comes to the Green Bay Packers, once again, they are expected to have a successful season.

After missing the playoffs for two consecutive seasons from 2017 to 2018, the Packers hired new head coach Matt LaFleur and on top of that, the roster underwent a major overhaul this past offseason as well.

A number of familiar faces from previous seasons had been let go and GM Brian Gutekunst was very aggressive in free agency as he would sign Za’Darius Smith, Preston Smith, Adrian Amos, and Billy Turner to $182 million worth of contracts. Not to mention that they added some instant help in the draft with Elgton Jenkins, Darnell Savage, and Rashan Gary.

And as we all saw, the results of these changes paid off big time.

Under LaFleur, this Packers team had a new energy about them with many players mentioning that it was the most fun season that they’ve ever been apart of. And of course, their play on the field was excellent. Overall the Green Bay Packers finished the season 13-3, winners of the NFC North, they were the NFC’s No. 2 seed, and they came up just one game shy of the Super Bowl.

Now as we begin to look ahead to the upcoming season, the Packers have a prime opportunity in the draft to add a game-changing receiver and find some more help on the defensive side of the ball. It’s these two or three moves that could put them over the top and help bring the Lombardi Trophy home.

We all have that feeling that with LaFleur as the head coach, Aaron Rodgers as the quarterback, a much better defense led by Za’Darius Smith, and with some added help from the draft, that this Packers team isn’t far off from being Super Bowl Champions again. And the odds-makers at Caesars Sportsbook feel the same way.

Out of all 32 teams, they give the Green Bay Packers the seventh-best odds to win the Super Bowl at 16-1, behind Baltimore, Kansas City, Seattle, Dallas, New Orleans, and San Francisco (in no particular order).

Additionally, they give them 7-1 odds of winning the NFC and they are the favorites to win the NFC North. But one head-scratching number is that they have Green Bay’s over/under win total at 8.5.

Now, I understand that they’ll likely regress and not win 13 games again, but 8.5? Let’s just say it’s difficult to envision them finishing the season 8-8 or worse. So do with that information what you will.

With all of that said, the draft still needs to take place, Green Bay may make a late free-agent signing, and of course, the NFL season is very long, so a lot will change. I mean, we see teams underachieve all the time, but for Green Bay Packers fans, there is plenty to be excited about for this upcoming season.
