Who’s Your Favorite Wisconsin MVP?
Wisconsin sports are in an unheralded territory with the number of MVPs on teams across the three major sports. Who is your favorite?
The sports world has suddenly been put on ahold, as everyone focuses on their own health amid the coronavirus pandemic. Still, we have to keep our sanity and fill our time with something so we might as well focus on the positives.
Wisconsin sports are fortunate enough to have MVPs on each of their three major teams–the Green Bay Packers, the Milwaukee Bucks and the Milwaukee Brewers. And not only do they have MVPs on each of those teams, but they have players that won their MVP awards on their respective Wisconsin teams.
Aaron Rodgers is the leader of the pack (pun emphatically intended), as he’s collected two MVP awards–one in 2011 and one in 2014. It turns out 2011 was a good year, as Ryan Braun also won MVP that season. Speaking of the Brewers, Braun isn’t the only MVP on the team as Christian Yelich also won the award in 2018. Yelich likely would’ve ran it back had he not suffered a season-ending injury in September.
Since we’re talking about winning back-to-back MVPs, now is a good time to enter Giannis Antetokounmpo into the conversation. The Greek Freak is the NBA’s reigning MVP and the favorite to win it again this season once play eventually resumes.
It’s a rare time when you can go to any of Wisconsin’s three major sports games and see one or two MVPs play on the hometown team at any given moment. And since they are all competitors, we wanted to see which one is your favorite. Head over to our poll on Twitter and vote for your favorite current Wisconsin MVP.
