Will the defense slow the Philly run game?

There haven’t been very many weak moments for this Green Bay Packers’ defense through the first three weeks of the season as they have carried this team to victory, but last week against Denver, they really had issues slowing the Broncos running game.

In total, the Broncos would rush for 149 yards against the Packers and a majority of those yards came in between the tackles. It is evident that Green Bay is missing Raven Greene in that hybrid inside linebacker role and after seeing Denver’s success, other teams will try to duplicate it.

This week, the Eagles bring a trio of running backs that all have big-play potential. Both Jordan Howard and Darren Sproles are averaging over four yards per carry and while rookie Miles Sanders has had issues fumbling the ball this season, he is still a dynamic runner.

The Green Bay defense will need to slow these backs down and force the Eagles to pass the ball. This will allow them to get after Carson Wentz and hopefully force some turnovers just as they have done in each of the first three games.
