Can the offense perform off-script?

Week one against the Chicago Bears there was very little to be excited about from the offensive side of the ball, however, in each of the last two weeks, they’ve performed very well in the first quarter. Unfortunately, it hasn’t lasted.

Matt LaFleur and this Green Bay Packers team are very good at game planning for their opponents, they are able to exploit their weaknesses early and it’s why they’ve gotten off to such fast starts. In the first quarter of games this season, Aaron Rodgers is a combined 16/24 for 248 yards with 10.3 yards per attempt, three touchdowns and a QBR of 140.3.

But the area that LaFleur, Rodgers and the rest of the offense need to improve on is making in-game adjustments. Once defenses counter what the Packers’ offense is initially doing, they sputter. In quarters two through four this season, Rodgers is completing just 59.4 percent of his passes, for 399 yards, with 5.9 yards per attempt, only one touchdown and a QBR of 78.8.

If the offense can put it all together for a full game, this truly is a scary team. Will this finally be the week that we sit it happen?
