Ka’dar Hollman

Drafted in the sixth round out of Toledo, Hollman has brought the athleticism and fiery demeanor that you want from your cornerback but what we have seen from him on the field through OTAs and into the preseason has come as nice surprise.

With injuries to Kevin King and Josh Jackson, Hollman has had a lot of reps with the first and second-team defenses and he has consistently been winning his battles against the Green Bay Packers’ top receivers.

What has stood out about Hollman’s game is his ability in man coverage which is a staple of the Mike Pettine defense. During the few practices I’ve attended as well as the first preseason games, we’ve seen that Hollman is a sticky defender who is tough to break away from.

In his first preseason game, Hollman came away with an interception after he undercut a pass from Texan’s quarterback Joe Webb. He would also add two tackles and a pass deflection.

While at this point Hollman is a lock for the 53-man roster, with injury concerns surrounding King and many wondering if Jackson will take that year-two leap, if Hollman continues to play well in practice and in games, he could see some decent playing time this upcoming season.
