The Green Bay Packers are poised to return to the playoffs in 2018. There is more one reason that they are going to make it there.

The Green Bay Packers experienced a rare miss of the playoffs last season. After Aaron Rodgers broke his collarbone, the team never looked the same. The holes with the defense became more exposed and the limitations of the offense were more noticeable. Heading into the 2018 season, the team is brimming with optimism on both sides of the ball.

The Packers has brought back Joe Philbin as offensive coordinator while bringing in Mike Pettine to shake up the defense. General manager Brian Gutekunst has had an active offseason improving the roster. After a season that saw nearly every player miss time on offense, they are getting healthy now. Players will take a step forward this year. Several are poised to have a break out year that could rank them among some of the league’s best at their position.

The NFC is poised to be loaded at the top this season. Teams like the Los Angeles Rams and San Francisco 49ers have made aggressive moves to increase their title chances. Other teams, such as the New Orleans Saints and Minnesota Vikings, will be even better than last year due to development. The Packers have the ability to be right in the mix with those teams, and they will have to come out of the gates hot.

The Packers need to compete for titles as long as Rodgers is in his prime. While he has shown no signs of slowing down, the window could close sooner rather than later. As long as Rodgers is under center, the team will be a major title threat. There are a few other reasons this team will return to the playoffs though.
