May 9 was a good day to be a starting pitching prospect for the Milwaukee Brewers. However, there were mixed results for the rest of the prospects.

The Milwaukee Brewers minor league starters combined to allow six earned runs over 23.1 innings pitched on Wednesday. Despite that, the minor league clubs split the day 2-2. Here’s the roundup…

Wisconsin Timber Rattlers 4, Lansing LugNuts 9

  • The Timber Rattlers scored four runs in the fourth inning but gave up eight runs in the final three innings to spoil Alex Bettinger’s start.

  • Keston Hiura (#1) got another start in the field and Marcos Diplan only allowed one hit, but the bullpen gave up the lead for the Mudcats.

  • Class A Wisconsin (13-19) start a series with the 10-20 Great Lakes.
  • Class A+ Carolina (15-18) put Trey Supak (#22) on the mound to begin their matchup against Wilmington.
  • Class AA Biloxi (21-12) battle Montgomery again, giving the ball to Adrian Houser (#12).
  • Class AAA Colorado Springs (21-11) go for 2 in a row in Game 3 against Nashville.

What to Watch For:

  • Trey Supak (#22) will be on the mound for Mudcats. The young righty is 1-1 on the year, having only given up 7 ER over 32.0 IP. Check out and see if he’s able to keep dealing for Carolina.
