Green Bay Packers A+ mock draft for 2018 NFL Draft
Round 7, No’s 232 and 239: Desmond Harrison, OT, West Georgia and Jeff Badet, WR, Oklahoma
Ah, the final round. The Packers use this round as a bit of a swing for the fences type with two prospects who have boom or bust written all over them.
Desmond Harrison is an offensive tackle with plenty of upside and normally wouldn’t be found anywhere near this point in the draft. Unfortunately, due to his off the field issues which saw him get suspended at Texas, Harrison slips to the seventh round due to those non-football concerns.
If we focus on the field only, he has an opportunity to be a backup for the Packers and take over as as a starter in a few years. The biggest question is if he can stay out of trouble long enough to sustain an NFL career.
Badet is a bit of a wildcard, as he’s listed as a wide receiver but athlete is probably the better way to describe him. Oklahoma tried to get him involved in a variety of ways considering he struggled as a true route-runner. If he can come in and make some noise in Green Bay, it’d offer them another dynamic and versatile weapon who can line up anywhere on the field.
