Week 14, Thursday, Dec. 5: Packers at Lions (Thursday Night Football)

What’s interesting about the Packers’ schedule in 2024 is the way their prime-time games fall. They get one in Week 1 and then wait until Thanksgiving for their next game under the bright lights. That's followed by three more night games on three different nights of the week.

In Week 14, they’re back on the Thursday Night Football slate, this time on the road. They travel to the Motor City to take on the Detroit Lions, who won the NFC North last season. This will be the second meeting of the year between the rivals, as they play in Green Bay in early November.

Dan Campbell has done an excellent job turning the Lions around. He’s put together a quality coaching staff including Ben Johnson, the offensive coordinator who helped turn Jared Goff’s career around. The former No. 1 overall pick went from a bust to a $53 million per year quarterback.

Goff has done well against Green Bay in his career with a record of 5-2. With Detroit, he’s 4-2 although the last time they met, it was a loss at Ford Field for the Lions.

They avenge that loss here with a win but the Packers should have already taken care of business at home to split the series.
