3. Wade Miley

Coincidentally, Miley could be the odd man out in Milwaukee next season, with the impending return of Woodruff, who is recovering from shoulder surgery in 2023. The 37-year-old Miley had his 2024 campaign cut short by Tommy John surgery.

Miley only made two starts this season, pitching seven innings and allowing six hits, five earned runs (1 HR), and four walks. The southpaw was entering his second season with the Brew Crew after a phenomenal 2023.

Last season, the veteran starter had a 9-4 record with a 3.14 ERA in 23 starts. He also had 79 strikeouts and only gave up 99 hits in 120.1 innings pitched.

Miley has a mutual option for the 2025 season worth $12 million. That said, for it to become guaranteed, both parties must agree to exercise it. It would be shocking to see Milwaukee agree to that based on Miley’s age and injury.

As previously mentioned, the Brewers have several other potential starting options for next season that must be considered, such as Colin Rea, Aaron Civale, and Frankie Montas.
