4 Packers Fans Will Be Happy to See Leave in Free Agency

There is a decent chance that there will be a complete overhaul at safety in Green Bay, as Jonathan Owens is also hitting free agency. All three of Packers' starting safeties might be out the door before the 2024 season.
General manager Brian Gutekunst has shown that he is not scared to completely clean house at a certain position. He has done that at tight end and wide receiver recently. He may have to do that with safety this season.
Similar to Savage, Owens also struggled in coverage and tackling this season. These were evident in the Divisional round loss against the San Francisco 49ers. He posted zero interceptions and saw a significant drop in tackles compared to the prior years. According to Pro Football Focus, he was the 72nd player out of 88 at his position.
That is not the sort of player a team needs to bring back. The Packers might be better off targeting prospects in the draft or looking for cheap contributors in free agency.
