It was impossible not to see Green Bay Packers head coach Matt LaFleur slowly dealing with mounting frustration in Sunday's loss to Detroit. It was clear that LaFleur was both incredibly frustrated by mistakes his roster was making as well as officiating that could easily be argued as leaning in the favor of Detroit. This was exposed in the postgame presser where LaFleur refused to commment on the penalty yardage that Green Bay piled up clearly showing he didn't agree with key calls that helped flip the game.

With this in mind, there should be a level of trust from Packer fans that this frustration is going to turn into results. LaFleur mirrored this level of irritation at the start of the year when the offense wasn't clicking and things weren't going according to expectations.

What followed was weeks of Jordan Love playing elite football and the Packers figuring things out offensively to the level they appeared to be among the NFC's top contenders. This once again should be the expectations understanding LaFleur is going back to the drawing board and is going to find ways to improve. No question, the head coach being at this high a level of frustration is a clear win for the Green Bay fanbase.

It promises meaningful changes at a time when the Packers badly need to go on a run with Carolina Panthers coming up on a short week. This will be followed by taking on the defending AFC champion New England Patriots in a point in the season when the Packers need to be stacking wins.

Packers Head Coach Matt LaFleur Reaching a New Level of Frustration Promises Turnaround

LaFleur answered challenges early in the season after the Packers collapsed to the Minnesota Vikings or had an ugly loss to the Atlanta Falcons. Both games left fans questioning leadership and turned up the heat on a coaching staff coming off an incredibly frustrating playoff exit. LaFleur's response showed why he remains the right leader for the roster and promises that an turnaroudn will follow Sunday's failure.

What makes the loss to the Lions especially interesting is the fact Green Bay's plan was clearly solid on both sides of the ball. Whether or not you agree with the penalties that were called there is no disagreeing that these calls along with Trey Smack's two misses proved to be the difference in a close game.

One that fans hope is the start of a meaningful run and allows Green Bay to begin to get hot in the winter months. No question, this should be the expectation as the Packers continue to prepare for a short turnaround with a frustrated LaFleur setting the tone.
