Packers Rookie Rankings After Week 11 Win over Chargers
The Green Bay Packers rely heavily on their 2023 rookie class on all sides of the ball. Perhaps that’s why we’ve seen such a roller coaster of a season, as they have several key contributors who are getting their first taste of the NFL.
The good news is we’ve seen some positive progress from several rookies. Green Bay is looking increasingly to these guys to contribute now that they have ten games under their belt.
Let’s rank how the rookies have played so far as we continue to move forward in the season. An important caveat to remember is that these rankings are based solely on their production this season and not a future ranking of their potential. Without further ado, let’s dive in!

Jayden Reed: Reed had a quiet start to training camp and preseason, but has come on strong lately. He’s third on the team in receptions (32–one behind Luke Musgrave), second in touchdown receptions (four) and first in receiving yards (463). The Packers even got him involved in the running game against the Chargers. He seems like he’s just hitting his stride.
Carrington Valentine: It’s been a roller coaster ride for Valentine, who began training camp off the radar of the depth chart before quickly proving he belonged. Then, when the season began, he was still buried behind a plethora of talented cornerbacks. However, injuries to Jaire Alexander and Eric Stokes and a mid-season trade of Rasul Douglas pushed him into a starting position. He’s learning on the go and has fared admirably so far.
Anthony Johnson Jr.: He’s another rookie who has been thrust into a starting gig due to injuries to Darnell Savage Jr and Rudy Ford ahead of him on the depth chart. He plays hard and looks like he wants to be out there. That’s an excellent step for the sixth-round pick.
Anders Carlson: It’s been a rough year for Carlson, who ranks second-to-last in extra point percentage and 25th in field goal percentage. After a good start, he’s hit a mid-season funk.
