Packers: 3 Bold Predictions at Steelers in Week 10
The Green Bay Packers are coming off a win for the first time in over a month and hope to make it back-to-back victories when they take on the Pittsburgh Steelers.
The Steelers enter the game at 5-3 despite a -30 point differential. That results from several close victories and a couple of blowout losses. They rely on their defense to do the heavy lifting. Their defense has at least one turnover in seven of their eight games this year and at least two in four games.
Green Bay will have to protect the rock, as the Steelers will be coming after that sucker. They also need to protect Jordan Love. Considering some of the pass protection issues Green Bay has had with their offensive tackles, T.J. Watt and company are looking to tee off on him.
Without further ado, let’s make three bold predictions about how the Packers Week 10 contest against the Steelers will play out.
With the Green Bay Packers trying to win back-to-back games, here are three bold predictions for their Week 10 matchup with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Packers Give Up 100 Yards to One Receiver
The Packers are thin in the secondary. Not just thin, but thin. They traded Rasul Douglas a couple of weeks ago, Eric Stokes is on the injured reserve and Jaire Alexander is doubtful after not practicing all week.
That leaves Carrington Valentine, a 2023 seventh-round pick, as their top cornerback. Keisean Nixon will be the primary slot corner and Corey Ballentine will join them as a starter on the outside. That all spells trouble for the Packers, as they’ll give up at least one hundred yards receiving to one of Pittsburgh’s wideouts.
Jordan Love Throws for 300 Yards
The Packers haven’t had a 300-yard passer in what feels like forever. Well, today is the day that streak is snapped.
Love had a breakout performance in the second half against the Los Angeles Rams and will carry that performance over against the Steelers. He has a full complement of offensive weapons at his disposal, Matt LaFleur appears to have finally figured out how to use Aaron Jones, and the Packers are desperate for a big offensive game.
Packers Lose in a Shootout
The Packers have been in plenty of close games this year; only they’re more accurately termed as defensive battles instead of shootouts. We’ll finally see a high-scoring affair in Week 10.
With Love leading the way through the air and the Packers’ defense returning to its leaky ways, both teams will put plenty of points on the board. Eventually, Green Bay’s lack of proven players in the secondary will prove too much to overcome, as they’ll fall to the Steelers, moving them to 3-6 on the season.
