The Green Bay Packers haven’t won as many games as they would’ve liked at the midway season, posting just a 3-5 record. However, that doesn’t mean there have been pleasant surprises along the way.

One of those pleasant surprises is inside linebacker Isaiah McDuffie. Due to various injuries to De’Vondre Campbell and Quay Walker, he’s started four games and played extensively in a fifth.

He was mostly seen as a special teams player heading into the season, but earned the third spot on the depth chart throughout training camp and preseason. Over the last five weeks, he’s shown he can be much more than just a special team specialist.

Keep your eye on these five players on the Green Bay Packers have been pleasant surprises halfway through the 2023 NFL season.

After Week 9, he’s racked up 46 total tackles, including three for loss. Furthermore, he’s been solid when attempting to make those tackles, only missing two on the season. He’s also been solid in coverage, keeping his man in front of him when he does give up a reception. He’s maybe not someone you want to count on as a full-time starter, but he’s been fine in spot duty.

Taking this same glass-half-full approach, here are four other Packers who have been pleasant surprises at the midseason mark.
