Most Disappointing Packers: Christian Watson

Christian Watson had a breakout second half of his rookie season, where he went wild. The Packers were able to get him the ball in a lot of different settings, including crossers, jet sweeps and deep shots, and defenses struggled to stick with him.

That hasn’t been the case in 2023. Watson missed the first three games with a hamstring injury. Since returning, he hasn’t had the impact he or the Packers hoped for. In five games, he’s hauled in just 12 receptions for 213 yards and one touchdown.

The Packers have taken several deep shots to Watson, but haven’t been able to connect for several reasons. Some of those are on Jordan Love and not Watson, but there have been plenty of chances for Watson to create a big play for his team when he’s failed. His athleticism is too great for him to be playing this poorly.
